‘Hopetimism is just theological truths making their way from your head to your heart.’
(Craig Hamilton)
Even as Christians, it can be easy to give in to the cynicism of our age. But we of all people have reasons to live with hope and purpose in this world. Christians are not called to be naïve optimists or cynical pessimists. Instead we are called to be ‘hopetimists’: people of hope who live out our new identity as followers of a faithful God and a risen Saviour.
But how can we grow in hopetimism and resist the cynicism of the world? The answer is that hope needs to be nurtured as we preach the gospel to ourselves. Living with hope means knowing what Jesus has done for us and allowing this truth to shape the way we think and feel day by day.
Join us on Sunday mornings over the summer as we dive into Luke’s gospel and remind ourselves of what is true of those who trust in Jesus and seek to grow in hopetimism.
