Seminar Stream 1: Biblical Theology Workshops  (Led by Carolyn and Abi)

Do you ever read parts of the bible and wonder how they are connected? What has the narrative of Exodus got to do with the letter to the Ephesians, or the prophecy of Joel with the Gospel of John? In these seminars, we’ll see how the Bible is one big story about what God is doing to reconcile the world through his Son, and we’ll work together at tracing some of its big themes from Genesis through to Revelation. Our aim is that we will be equipped to study God’s word more confidently and with greater joy as we see how it all fits together and points to Jesus.
29th Jan:    The Presence of God
5th Feb:       The Kingdom of God
12th Feb:      The Deliverance of God

Seminar Stream 2: Living and Speaking for Jesus  (Led by Duncan, Sam and Ed)

Each seminar will help us to think about how we can live and speak for Jesus in a world that is watching and listening (even if it doesn’t always feel like it). We will help each other think about how we can meaningfully connect with those around us, how we can authentically and naturally share our faith, even in the midst of suffering or hardship, and how we can help people who want to become Christians. The sessions will allow plenty of time for group discussion, as well as a 15 minute video, produced by a national organisation of Churches and Christians called A Passion for Life.

Whatever stage you are at in your faith, and however confident you feel being open about your faith with others, I trust they will be a blessing to us as we engage with them.

Seminar Stream 3: Remember the Lord! (Led by AJ)

This family seminar stream will aim to help us better equip children and young people to remember the Lord in three areas of life: In the home, where we'll be thinking about how we speak about God in the everyday of family life. In the church, where we'll be looking at how we help our children love church and their church family. In the mind, where we'll be reflecting on the Oak Hill seminar on mental health that AJ and others attended in November.

5th Feb:            Remember the Lord in Church
12th Feb:           Remember the Lord at Home
