Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9 v 6-8
At Woodgreen, giving back to God out of his generous provision for us, is an important part of our worship. Our attitude to giving reflects our attitude and gratitude to God so we want to be joyful and thankful givers as well as careful and intentional givers.
We’re confident that the finance team at Woodgreen are well equipped to carefully handle our finances and the Elders to steward our resources in an effective and godly manner.

On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. 1 Cornithians 16 v 2
We believe that the best way to give is by following a pattern of regular, planned giving based on Bible principles. We’re very happy to receive one off or cash gifts but giving through standing order and taking advantage of the gift aid scheme makes the most of your gift.
Here’s how you can give back to God, ensuring your gift is used most effectively
1. Set-up a regular Standing Order.
Click here to download form, complete & give to a member of the finance team (ask the Welcomers if you’re not sure who they are).
2. Review your giving regularly to ensure it is proportionate to the resources God has given you.
25% of every £1 you give will be reclaimed by Woodgreen and added to your gift at absolutely no cost to you ! If you’re a higher-rate tax payer then you are entitled to claim more back – speak to your tax office or a member of the finance team for help with this.
3. Give extra when you can
When you are able, why not give extra in anticipation of God having a plan for it? We don’t believe in swelling our coffers but using our resources for the growth of God’s Kingdom.
Having finance in place, whether regular or additional giving, helps leadership to plan and the church to grow. It also means we can increase our giving to other churches and mission organisations.
